Prime Minister Justin Trudeau warned on Friday and U.S. President Donald Trump doubled down yesterday.
In a pre-Superbowl interview with Fox News, Trump says that he wants to see Canada a 51st State. He repeated an unsubstantiated claim that the States are paying $200 billion a year in subsidies to this country. He then added if Canada was a 51st State he wouldn't mind and followed up that Canadians would be better off becoming part of America. Trudeau warned a group of Canadian business leaders in leaked audio from a Friday meeting that Trump’s threat of annexing Canada is no joke.
