Nova Scotia estimates it will cost about $60 billion to build out the Wind West offshore project. Last week, Prime Minister Mark Carney shortlisted the project, among five others, that may be eligible for fast tracking through parliament in the next round of his major industrial projects announcement. Carney says those projects are in development but need more work before being considered. In a document released last week, the province is looking for the federal government to provide tax credits, low-interest financing and direct investment to fund the project.
