Mahone Bay is issuing a warning to residents to be careful with water use. Because of the hot and dry weather, the water levels in the reservoir have decreased significantly. There is no mandatory water restriction if much-needed rain isn’t seen soon; restrictions may be necessary. Officials suggest avoiding the following activities to conserve water: watering lawns, washing vehicles, long showers and small loads of laundry or dishes.
