A public hearing is coming up for the Local Improvement Bylaw and Equipment Charges Bylaw in Mahone Bay. The town council gave its first reading on Tuesday. The Town of Mahone Bay’s Taxi Bylaw regulates taxis and limousines within the Town. The Local Improvement Bylaw establishes the manner in which the Town shall impose, fix and enforce payment of charges for installation or improvement of utility systems on public property. The Equipment Charges Bylaw establishes the manner in which the Town shall impose, fix and enforce payment of charges for the financing and installation of equipment on private property. The public hearing will be held on March 26, 2026 at 6:30pm in Council Chambers to receive written and verbal submissions from the public on the proposed by-laws.
