Lunenburg District RCMP, along with Southwest Nova Scotia RCMP Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SWN SCEU) and the Nova Scotia RCMP Explosives Disposal Unit, have seized firearms, ammunition, improvised incendiary devices (IIDs), and unassembled parts for the construction of IIDs from a home in Chester Basin. The investigation began last Wednesday when Halifax Regional Police received a complaint about a person who made threats about the possession and use of firearms. That information led them to the home in Chester Basin. A Chester Basin man was arrested at the Lunenburg District RCMP detachment in Chester. He was released and has an upcoming court appearance to face firearms-related charges. The investigation continues.
