There’s just one step left to permanently reduce the provincial portion of the H-S-T. Yesterday, the government tabled a motion to reduce the H-S-T in Nova Scotia to 14 per cent, something it is touting will make life more affordable. As the final step, the federal government must introduce a regulation change. The reduction will take effect on April 1st and is the first time in 15 years the province has made changes to the sales tax.
