Houston faces tough questions about budget cuts

Premier Tim Houston is back in Nova Scotia from his trip to Ontario and facing some tough questions and criticism over budget cuts. Houston told the legislature it is a “tough time” for the province and the country and he told reporters the $1.2 billion deficit the province faces is simply a “sad reality”. Houston told legislators not to expect changes to the budget but as protesters gathered outside he said the government will listen “carefully” and if it can support, it will.
