Changes to Nova Scotia’s Cannabis Control Act

Nova Scotia is also amending the Cannabis Control Act. The province says the changes include creating a new offence – when a landlord permits a place or premises to be used for the distribution or sale of cannabis in violation of the act, increasing fine amounts and setting mandatory minimum fines and allowing the appointment of peace officers to enforce the act along with police officers. The province says the changes will improve public health and safety.
