Bridgewater Mayor David Mitchell has been elected as the new President of the Nova Scotia Federation of Municipalities. In a social media statement, Mitchell says he is honoured to take on the role. He expressed that with the help of a “fantastic” board and a strong NFSM staff team of experts, they will continue to work collaboratively with municipalities and the province to drive Nova Scotia forward. Lunenburg Mayor Jamie Myra congratulated Mitchell on the new position, saying the association is in great hands under his watch.
